Buffer Leans Into PLG as a New Competitive Differentiator

Hootsuite announced they were removing their free plan on Mar 31st and Buffer took full advantage of it.

A pretty smart move to counter a competitor’s strategy change and expose a new competitive advantage. No product changes needed from Buffer, just a positioning play.

And a great excuse to share it.

They’re now the better option for those businesses and entrepreneurs “left behind.”
