Demand Creation vs Demand Capture: 🔴 Demand Creation for "passive buyers" Most of your total available market is not ready to buy for many reasons: - They are not problem aware - They are not solution aware - It's not the time to purchase - They have other priorities Yet they fit your ideal customer profile and could use your solution. But there is no point forcing them to have a call with a sales rep if they are not ready to buy. That's where demand-creation activities come in: - Online lives and Podcasts - Social video shorts - Personal branding and partnerships - Branding with content Basically, every awareness and authority activities that meet your audience where they are (often on social media). The first goal is positioning your brand as the best choice when buyers become active. The second goal is to foster demand and turn passive buyers into active buyers (🔻red arrow in the graph). 🟢 Demand Capture for "active buyers" A fraction of your target market is ready to buy as we speak: - They want to fix a problem - They know there are solutions - They are comparing options - They have a "buying checklist" So you need a system to turn these active buyers into prospects. There is no point investing a lot in demand creation if you can't convert the demand. That's where demand-capture activities come in: - Google Ads and high-intent SEO articles - Sales funnel with forms and follow-ups - Retargeting ads "book a demo" - Account-based marketing Basically, every marketing and sales activities that inject prospects into your sales system (🟩 green arrow in the graph). The goal here is to generate revenue. You need your system to be ready to capture more demand during peaks often linked to your industry’s seasonalities (● black circle in the graph). *** TLDR; 🔴 Most of your target market is not ready to buy. So run demand-creation programs to 1. turn them into active buyers and 2. become the best choice. 🟢 Have a system in place to turn active buyers into revenue. Get ready for peak demand phases linked to your industry’s seasonalities. *** PS: I specialize in early-stage and I believe this framework should be used only after securing product-market fit. However, I am reporting this to my followers as I think it can be useful for you starting from the consolidation and growth stage. I'm also inviting any demand creation expert to add tips in the comments. Anyone?

Peace of mind, discipline, and money are linked. For the past 4 years, these 7 habits helped me to connect the dots: 1. Trade Doom Scrolling for Creation It feels great to limit information inputs and focus more on the outputs. I deleted every app and activity that implies doom scrolling. I replaced them with creative activities like thinking, writing, and drawing. Most people think they need more inputs (videos, courses) while they need more outputs (writing, creating). 2. Time Management is the Foundation The 2 most fundamental things you can control are your time and what you do with it. I know brilliant people who could 100x their revenue only by mastering this skill. It involves structuring your day and week, saying no a lot, prioritizing, and scheduling tasks depending on your energy level. 3. See Happiness as a Personal Recipe I've analyzed what makes a happy day for me, and it all comes down to a few ingredients: a support system, deep work, writing, quiet time, and a solid 5-hours time dedicated to what makes life beautiful. Study yourself, and find your own ingredients. 4. Simple Note-taking for a Second Brain I've tried countless note-taking apps with AI, note-linking, and even semantic links. Yet a simple setup with Google Tasks (in emails), Google Calendar, and Apple Note is the best for me. It needs to be simple and intuitive to leave room for thinking. That's a real second brain. 5. Meditation and Breathwork are Cheatcodes Every morning, I start with 20 minutes of Wim Hof breathwork to get instant mental clarity. When I feel stressed or overwhelmed I opt for a 5-min Box breathing (used by navy seals). For headaches, tiredness, and brain fog, I use the Nostril breathing technique. The techniques are free and well-explained on YouTube. 6. Work Discipline Brings Power Whether I have the motivation or not, I follow the same work routine every day. It always starts with writing for 1 hour and then deepwork for 3 hours. At 1 p.m., 70% of my to-do list is done. The afternoon is dedicated to calls and clearing the remaining 30% of tasks at a less intensive pace. My brain starts to go into rest mode after 7 p.m. so I cannot do complex tasks or make important decisions. 7. No call Before 12 + The best way to call me is by email This might sound anecdotic but it makes the difference. When your agenda is closed and you know 9 am -13 pm is dedicated to your deepwork, you feel more focused and undisturbed. Also, if you think "the best way to call me is by email" sounds arrogant; What would you say to a stranger who asks you in the street "Hi, can I pick your brain now for 30 min?". *** On a more general note: More tasks, apps, courses, "synergies", DMs, latest hacks, videos... That means less time for self-knowledge, creativity, and world discovery. But we experience life through ourselves, not external inputs. So let's be wise about what we are doing with our time.
